T.J.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh is visiting the Vikings.

He's not young and he won't come cheap. But he fills a big need on the Vikes. And he's saying he will make his decision by Sunday. Seattle, the Giants and the Bengals are other teams in the mix to acquire him.

The Vikings need to what whatever it takes to ensure he doesn't leave Minnesota without signing a contract.

I'm feeling pretty sick right now about the K.C. / NE trade. KC gets Cassel and Vrabel for a second round pick (34th overall). Either Scott Pioli got the buddy discount from his old organization, or nobody else wanted Cassel and the Patriots didn't want to pay him all of that money to ride the pine.

Yeah a second round pick for Cassel would have been compensation I could have stomached. I really thought the Patriots would want (and get) more for him. Perhaps Pioli got a deal know one else would have got, but I doubt it. Perhaps Cassel's value wasn't as high as I thought. It makes the Vikings look a little hasty in trading for Rosenfels a day earlier for a fourth rounder.

I disagree. I think the Pats got good value for Cassell/Vrabel. You have look at it as a 2nd rounder plus the money. If he does not sign a new contract, he will be $14 million this year alone. He will probably get an extension, but you know his agent is going to be pushing the envelope. I think SR/MC are basically the same QB (minus MC's running) and we got the lower price. That being said, I hope somebody at Vikes HQ has made a call to Denver...
