Who wants a 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterback?

Here we go.

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen says the team will try to accommodate Jay Cutler's request for a trade.

However, the use of the words "try to accommodate" in Bowlen's statement makes it clear that if the Broncos do trade Cutler, it will be on their terms. They won't sell Cutler for 90 cents on the dollar just to get rid of him and avoid a distraction.

And because there are going to be a lot of teams interested in Cutler, the price to get him may have gone up compared to whatever it was going to be when the Vikings tried to swing that three-way trade with the Broncos and the Patriots for Cutler.

Still, I think we're about to see how much the Vikings coaching staff and management really believes in Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson.

I got a nice Peterson jersey from sport-jerseys.biz.

Now this gets exciting - but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'd be willing to give up our entire draft to get him, but not any of our proven young players (e.g. Greenway).

Is Cutler really that good? Will he always be a cry-baby? Is this the modern-day Jeff George story being replayed?

It will be interesting to see what the Broncos actually do get for him. When Bowlen openly puts him on the block like that - it means that they NEED to trade him... not just "on their terms" IMHO.

This could get exciting. Trading away an entire draft for one player is scary. But it's possible none of those players will be as good as Cutler. If possible, I'd like the Vikes to be able to keep their second round pick because you can get very good players for reasonable contracts in that round.

I still think the Broncos will trade Cutler to whomever can give them starting quarterback in return. The Vikings can't do that, although the Broncos could use the picks they get from the Vikngs to swing some kind of multi-team trade that nets them a QB. But I wonder if the Vikings feel they need a franchise quarterback as desperately as some other teams right now (Jets, Lions, 49ers, to name a few).

Interesting times. Just like last year with Jared Allen.

I think the Vikings have zero chance to land Cutler without giving up two 1st round picks (at least) First of all, there are teams with high interest in Cutler that have more to offer including a QB to send back. 2nd - if the reports are true and the Vikes backed out of the 3 way deal, and that is the reason McDaniel did not end up with Cassell, then Devner is unlikely to do the Vikes any favors. So once again, a coach's refusal to accept that he may be wrong (on every QB decision he has made) is going to cost the Vikes.

My prediction - New York Jets

As long as he doesn't end up in the NFC North, I'll get over this.
