The 38-10 win over St. Louis on Sunday was the first Vikings game I haven't been able to watch in two-plus years.
So with that in mind, I'll leave it up to any Viking fans who actually watched the game to provide their input on what this latest win tells us about the 2009 Minnesota Vikings.
What say you - fans of the purple? What were the positives coming out of this blowout? What were the negatives? Judging from the game recap I read, St. Louis was able to march the ball on the Vikings D, but they just couldn't stop making turnovers. How can a team as bad as St. Louis move the ball on our defence?
Whatever, 5-0 still feels good. Real good.

It was a short week after a very emotional game, and the Vikings, in cruise control, crushed the lowly Rams by 4 TDs. Yes, St. Louis had nice drives and did Minnesota huge favors by turning the ball over at the best/worst possible times, but I don't mind. I don't think they'll play to that level against teams like the Ravens and Steelers.
Fans, especially those who are very cautiously optimistic about this team, always have to find negatives in the game. And there will always be ways to improve. But for me, I'm just enjoying the win.
The Vikings have beat three lousy teams on the road this year, which is something they've struggled to do in the past. That's encouraging.
This is the type of game that made me nervous in recent years. Minnesota has been finding a way to struggle with bad teams.
I think that's part of what Favre brings to the table... a confidence and ability to realize that if bad teams score, or move the ball, or look good on defense the Vikings can still come out on top in a big way.

If the Vikings could find a way to cover opposing tight ends, I would be talking of a 15-1 / 14-2 season. For whatever reason, good and bad teams alike seem to be exploiting that area of our defense with ease.
It is going to be very interesting to see how the Vikings match up against marquee teams like the Ravens and Steelers.
Travis-
I've thought the same thing. (Well, I don't know about 14 or 15 wins, but TEs up the middle are the defense's weakness.)
I don't know which Raven is a threat for that (possibly a slot guy or Ray Rice?) but if Heath Miller tears up the Vikings a week from Sunday, that should be issue #1 over the bye week.
